Zac Efron Turns 21

Yep, it was a rather quiet affair.

You’d expect more fanfare at the birthday of a teen idol like Zac Efron. But no. It was a relatively low-key affair, said the star.
Zac celebrated turning 21 on 18 Oct with a dinner party attended by friends, family and his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens. The High School Musical hunk enjoyed a two-hour meal at L.A.’s Pace restaurant with pals including Disney stars Ashley Tisdale and Monique Coleman. Also there were Amanda Bynes, Brittany Snow, Michelle Trachtenberg and singing sisters Aly and Aj Michalka.

Not surprisingly, Zac received bottles of liquor as gifts, now that he is of the legal drinking age in the U.S.

The celebrations continued at a nearby hotel, where the birthday boy hosted an afterparty with some of his guests.

Superstars are not exempt from having crushes on their fellow stars. Teen star Selena Gomez will certainly vouch for it as she recently revealed how the “adorable” Indiana Jones star Shia La Beouf makes her go all ga-ga.
Although she's famous and has been linked to Nick Jonas, Selena admits that if she ever came face to face with Shia, she'd be a nervous wreck! “I would freak out and probably not be able to talk!” Selena admitted, who also added, like a true blue fan. “Shia is so cute, I love him.”
As for her 'are they or aren't they' romance with Nick, Selena still maintains there is nothing brewing in the love department between them. However, she revealed, “Nick and I are getting to know each other but we’re not confirming anything.”

So says Edward Norton! In a recent interview with MTV, Edward was asked what he thought of the rumours of a Fight Club musical with the music of Trent Reznor. "This has been floating around for a while," he said. "I've seen different notions of it. I doubt it'll be me and Brad (Pitt, the cast members from the movie version). I know Brad can't sing. Reznor would be about the right vibe for it, I guess." Hah, wonder if Brad tried singing something to Ed and it sounded horrible (well to Ed anyway...!).

WAYS TO OVERCOME GLOBAL WARMING

Global warming is a serious issue and its every individuals responsibility to ensure things do not get worse.


Firstly, we should learn to drive smartly. A well-tuned car with properly inflated tires burns less gasoline so this cuts pollution and saving us money at the pump. Better yet, skip the drive and take public transit, walk or even cycle if its a short journey.

Secondly, we can save the Earth at our own backyard by planting trees. Protecting forests is a huge step on the road to curbing global warming. Planting shade trees around our home will not only make our landscape much more nicer but it will also help us to absorb Co2 or carbon dioxide.

Besides that, we should also learn the ‘3R’ method which is Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Paper, glass and metal products made from recycled materials saves 70% to 90% of energy and pollution. Recycling a stack of newspapers only four feet high will save a good sized tree.

Furthermore, we must also do not leave electrical appliances on standby mode. Normally, teenagers like us love to watch television overnight, so once we get sleepy we will just press the ‘on/off’ button on the remote control to switch of the television. Actually, a television set that’s switched on for three hours a day and in standby mode for the remaining 21 hours uses about 40% of its energy in standby mode.

Eventhough, this advice is for housewives and our moms but it can also be practiced by some of us who loves cooking. When you are cooking make sure you cover the pot, because doing so can save a lot of energy needed for the preparation of a dish. Even better, are pressure cookers and steamers, they can save energy about 70%.

The conclusion is, we as the occupants of the world should be more caring towards the environment and create natural areas and make it more livable for today’s and tomorrow’s generation. And we should also increase awareness among local residents and the larger community about our mission to improve the Earth for future generation as well as assert the importance of environment protection and conservation.
